It is 10:24 and I am tired already….. I seriously cant understand what is the purpose of internship when you don’t learn anything, even you don’t get to see all the things ….
The only thing that I am getting too know is the office atmosphere… arrive at 9 in the morning do work till break (by work I mean sit in your cabin turn on the A.C switch on your computer and when you find facebook and youtube blocked by the server, do some stupid writing on Word like I am doing it now) come back after break and start working again till someone says its off time…….
There is one more thing that I came to know about and that is you don’t get any homework when you are working at an office, all the assignments assigned are supposed to do during your work hours so never ever bother to disturb your time at home for your office jobs. If you do so you would also be doing the same what I am doing.
Nevertheless it is fun to sit all day long and do no work but the matter of fact is that a man is never happy with what he gets. If I was sitting at home and sleeping all day or maybe facebooking all day, that too would have become uncomfortable for me…… on contrary I am sitting in my cabin and doing what you can imagine and can also imagine how interesting this work is ……..
During my last 14 years of education, I did notice one thing very particularly. I might not be a regular school changer (did my whole school at one place whole high school at one place and yes of course doing college from one place as well). Every place you go, you always find first few days hard and maybe cruel at times. You don’t know all the people there you don’t know what to do next and you always keep on counting number of days remaining there (that reminds me that I just have to work 22 more days here :D ) but every time when you are about to leave that place the tables are turned and I don’t know why but you don’t feel like leaving that place anymore. Don’t know why but it happens.
Certainly it is not happening here right now.
However there are also some good parts as well. All the people know that you are doing some serious research work maybe working on a million dollar project or assisting in making some rocket while you are just getting hold on your nerves in the hope that at the end you will get just enough money to have a one little party maybe.
There is one strange thing also. Rest of the days most of my gmail accounts did appear online even during vacations and even early in the morning but I don’t know what has happened to them they don’t come online even till mid-day and damn, right now it is the only chat available to me ……….
I forgot to mention that I am not the only one doing a lot of value adding work, one of the internee is using omegle (talk to strangers) and the other one brought his laptop and headphones and listening to I don’t know some kinda weid music…..
Even after what I said all above, no one is supposed to think that doing job is easy, the pressure of your bosses in order to PRETEND that you are working is enough to keep you busy.
I did write few more lines but the power went out and I cant remember what did I write, and I am not gonna put the blame on WAPDA cuz when you work in some bloody Multinational you expect them not only to have backup generators but also ups with each computer to save the MIGHTY IMPROTANT work in case the power goes out.
Okay just right when I ran out of things to write, another miracle just happened. I JUST GOT THE FIRST TEA FROM OFFICE. Even though I am not a big fan of tea but believe me the first tea you get at work has a unique taste and no I am not talking about too much sugar in the tea. :P
Yesterday the Col. Sahib told us that at the end of this internship we will submit a report of what we learnt and what did during these 4 weeks. Looking at the whole page I just wrote, I must say that I am doing a great job :D
About that presentation that I was supposed to make today in office but I already made that at home (so efficient of me) I just hope that these people don’t expect me to memorize the stuff and it wont be like a semester project presentation or a viva sorta thing.

All this presentation stuff is usually meant for marketing people, but they say that presenting technical descriptions is engineer’s job. I only could figure out one thing out of this and that is your boss is always right whenever you feel he is not, read the first rule again.
Btw I hate using this MS Word 2003, disgusting…..
Here I am once again, 3:50 pm. Now this is the time I would have definitely been sleeping if I was at home and here what am I doing, SLEEPING. Just took a power nap of like 15 mins and then back again WORKING. Thank God they served the tea again, now I understand why tea is a must for people who work in office. So by now I actually made the necessary changes to the presentation, even prepared a bit about what I have to say. And now thinking just 2 hours left and then again I will have some time free to take some fresh air. So task for today is to update the library of my ipod as I am gonna need it desperately here, maybe put some audio book in it and coke studios new episodes for sure.
These long pauses when you put your left hand under your chin with your elbows on the table and still thinking what to write next reminds of the awkward silences which occure when you talk to your Ex like after a decade maybe. Nothing to say always wanting something to listen still nervous.
Dear old style fat ass monitor thank you for your weird flickers each time I get a text, I swear when it is on silent within its cover it won’t let me know otherwise.
I seriously feel like watching some kinda actual stuff happening in industry. Sitting in the head office just watching the CAD models or WAX prototypes at the most is certainly not enough. Btw I think that 3D printing seems really cool thing, imagine 3D things coming out of your printer :O
Usually in most of the offices 4:30 is the the time when you save all your IMPORTANT WORK and start preparing to leave, here the situation is a bit different. These dedicated people work till 6 since it is June and long days mean long working hours (ddnt made any sense to me at first but then I read the rule number one again and I got that boss is always right :P ) so I am not at all thinking of saving my precious work.
I certainly know one thing with 100% confidence that when I’ll be in industry I’m gonna miss this time but till now I have completely failed to understand that why do people prefer desk jobs over industrial jobs, people spend 4 years doing a bachelor engineering and then they spend 2 more years doing MBA just to get an office job doesn’t makes any sense to me at least.
ETA 54 minutes and counting……..
Stratsys website not working, gmail chat not working, even my mind has stopped working…….
Sorry was busy with some IMPORTANT people…. :D
So now its like 26 minutes still remaining and I am starting to wrap up the things gmail chat started working but not that stratsys website.
Hang on dude just 15 more minutes just 15 minutes and then you will be one free bird in the sky….. it reminds me even school didnt feel this much confined and I am like stuck in some jail in the middle of pacific where there is no way out and most importantly nothing to do
So here it is…. Time to go, was a busy day indeed…. See you tomorrow
